Colorado River



Colorado River, major U.S. river, rising in the Rocky Mountains of northern Colorado and flowing 1,450 mi (2,333 km) in a generally southwesternly direction to enter the Gulf of California. The river has formed many canyons, including the Grand Canyon, one of the world's largest.
