Colorado Desert



Colorado Desert, arid basin of Southeast California and northwest Mexico, 2,000 sq mi (5,180 sq km). Part of the Sonoran Desert, it is bounded by the Pacific Coastal Ranges, the Colorado River, and the Eagle and San Bernardino Mountains. Much of the Colorado Desert, including the Salton Sea and the Imperial Valley, is below sea level.
