Cheyenne



Cheyenne (pop. 73,142), capital of Wyoming and center of its agriculture. Founded in 1867 by U.S. Army officers and Union Pacific Railroad engineers, the town became an outfitting station for prospectors going West and a haven for outlaws until vigilantes gained control. Its annual Frontier Days attract thousands of tourists.
