Cayman



Cayman, crocodilian of South America, notably of the Amazon basin. The dwarf cayman is up to 4 ft (1 m) long but the black cayman may grow to 15 ft (4–1/2 m). Similar to alligators, caymans can be distinguished by bony plates on the underside.
