Crocodile



Crocodile, carnivorous reptile (order Crocodilia) found in both fresh and salt water in tropical and subtropical regions. Crocodiles range in size from 3 ft 9 in (1.14 m; the dwarf crocodile), to 8 ft (2.4 m; the Nile), to 12 ft (3.7 m; the American), to 20 ft (6.1 m; the Orinoco), and are distinguished from the alligator by a narrower snout, greater aggressiveness, and a long protruding fourth tooth.
