Charles Bulfinch



Bulfinch, Charles (1763–1844), U.S. architect. He designed the Massachusetts statehouse, Boston (1800); University Hall, Harvard University (1815); and the east portico of the Capitol, Washington, D.C. (1818). He emphasized the neoclassical style in U.S. civic architecture.
