Georges Braque



Braque, Georges (1882–1963), French painter and sculptor. From fauvism he went on, together with Pablo Picasso, to evolve cubism and to be among the first to use collage. Among his major works are Woman with a Mandolin (1937) and the Birds series (1955–63).
