Brandenburg



Brandenburg, historic region in eastern Germany. Formerly the central province of Prussia, it was divided by the Allies at the end of World War II between Poland and East Germany. In 1952 the German state of Brandenburg was abolished and divided into the districts of Frankfurt, Potsdam, and Cottbus.
