Belle Boyd



Boyd, Belle (1843–1900), Confederate spy in the American Civil War. An actress, she lived in Virginia and passed military information to the South. Caught in 1862, she was released for lack of evidence in 1863. She wrote Belle Boyd in Camp and Prison (1865).
