Blackbird



Blackbird, any of several dark-colored perching birds of the family Icteridae, including the red-winged blackbird and the yellow-headed blackbird. Blackbirds may survive temperatures as low as 20°F (−6°C). They travel in huge flocks (as many as 5 million birds) and eat fruit, insects, and worms, and often do serious damage to crops.
