Bruno Bettelheim



Bettelheim, Bruno (1903–90), Austrian-born U.S. psychologist who drew on his personal experience as an inmate of Nazi concentration camps to write his famous article, “Individual and Mass Behavior in Extreme Situations” (1943). His subsequent work mainly concerned the treatment of autistic and disturbed children.
