Bayberry



Bayberry (Myricaceae), any of a family of trees and shrubs found in temperate and subtropical climates. The North American bayberry shrub (Myrica pennsylvanica) is found along the eastern coast from North Carolina to Nova Scotia. The waxy fruit of some species is used to make candles, scented soaps, sealing wax, and cosmetics.
