Lizard



Lizard, any of many reptiles of the order Squamata, which also includes snakes. Lizards usually possess well-developed limbs, though these are reduced or absent in some species. Lizards typically eat insects, though some will take eggs or small mammals. Unlike snakes, lizards have ear openings and movable eyelids. The smallest are less than 3 in (7.6 cm); the largest is the Komodo dragon of Indonesia, which can be 10 ft (3 m) long.
