Lippi



Lippi, name of 2 Italian Renaissance painters in Florence. Fra Filippo Lippi (c. 1406–69) was influenced by Masaccio, Donatello, and by Flemish painting. His frescoes in the Cathedral of Prato are his most important works. Filippino Lippi (c. 1457–1504), his son, influenced by Botticelli, painted the brilliantly detailed Adoration of the Magi (1496).
