Irish water spaniel



Irish water spaniel, dog breed from the early 1800's. Probably created by crossing a poodle and Irish setter, this spaniel has been called the clown of the dog family. A valuable hunting dog both on land and in the water, where it is an excellent duck retriever, the Irish water spaniel is 21 to 24 in (53 to 61 cm) high and weighs from 45 to 65 lb (20 to 29 kg).
