Irish terrier



Irish terrier, dog that resembles a wirehaired fox terrier. About 18 in (46 cm) high and weighing about 27 lb (12.3 kg), the Irish terrier breed is though to be about 2,000 years old. Once used to bore into the dens of small animals, and to carry messages on battlefields during World War I and World War II, the Irish terrier today is mainly kept as a pet.
