Bob Hope



Hope, Bob (Leslie Townes Hope; 1903– ), English-born U.S. comedian, born in Eltham, England. He emigrated to the United States as a child and began his career in vaudeville, becoming famous in the 1930s through radio and motion pictures, notably in the “Road” series of movies with Bing Crosby. Since World War II he has made regular overseas tours to entertain U.S. troops and has specialized in topical political humor.
