Cumberland Mountains



Cumberland Mountains, or Cumberland Plateau, part of the Appalachian Mountain Range. It extends 450 mi (725 km), forming the boundary between Virginia and Kentucky. The plateau contains hardwood trees, rich deposits of limestone, coal fields, and fine-grained sandstones used in construction.
