Vicuña



Vicuña (Lama vicugna), member of the camel family living in the western High Andes at up to 16,400 ft (c.5,000 m). They are believed to be the original of the domesticated alpacas. Vicuñas are graceful animals living in family groups of a stallion and up to 20 mares, occupying a fixed territory.
