Toy dog

Toy dog, any of several small breeds of dogs kept as pets. Toy dogs are either naturally small or selectively bred to keep them small. In most cases they do not constitute a separate genus or species, but are related to larger dogs of various species. Examples include the Maltese, chihuahua, Pekingese, Pomeranian, shih tzu, toy poodle, and Yorkshire terrier.
