Saint Sylvester I

Sylvester I, Saint (d.335), pope who reigned from 314 to 335. During his reign the Council of Nicaea declared Arius a heretic for arguing that the Son was unequal to God. Many legends associate Sylvester I with the Donation of Constantine, a document supposedly granting him control of church property. He is thought to be buried in the Cemetery of Saint Priscilla in Rome.
