Donald Kent Slayton



Slayton, Donald Kent (1924– ), U.S. astronaut. In a cooperative venture between the United States and the USSR (Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, 1975), Slayton and his Apollo crew (Thomas P. Stafford and Vance D. Brand) orbited the earth while docked with a Soviet spacecraft and its crew. Slayton was later director of flight crew operations for the NASA.
