Ribbon worm



Ribbon worm, any of a group of elongated marine worms (phylum Nemertina), ranging in size from less than 1 in (2.5 cm) to 90 ft (27 m) long. Most live in the open sea, but some live in fresh water or on land. They all have a long proboscis, sometimes spiked and poisonous, that can be thrown out with great accuracy to capture worms and other small animals.
