Ribbon Falls

Ribbon Falls, in the Yosemite Valley, one of the highest waterfalls in the world. Fed by the melting snows of the Sierra Nevadas, it drops 1,612 ft (491 m) and empties into the Merced River. In early August, the snow dries up and the falls cease. Its name derives from its ribbonlike appearance.
