Cole Porter



Porter, Cole (1893–1964), U.S. popular song composer. After World War I he achieved great success as a writer of sophisticated songs and musical comedies, providing both the words and music. His prolific output includes Anything Goes (1934), Kiss Me Kate (1948), Can-Can (1953), the film score for High Society (1956), and many classic songs.
