Padua



Padua (pop. 213,700), oldest city in northern Italy, on the Bacchiglione River, 22 mi (35 km) southwest of Venice. Padua is a renowned renaissance center noted for its architecture and art treasures, including works by Giotto, Donatello, and Fra Filippo Lippi.
