Paducah



Paducah (pop. 29,315), river port city in southwestern Kentucky, on the Tennessee and Ohio rivers, at the head of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, which extends to the Gulf of Mexico. Paducah was founded by the explorer William Clark in 1827. It is a market center for the area's coal and agricultural products and a diversified industrial center.
