Scott O'Dell



O'Dell, Scott (1898– ), U.S. author of children's historical novels, born in Los Angeles, Calif. Many of his books use California and Mexico as backgrounds for his characters and include the Newbery Medal-winning Island of the Blue Dolphins (1961), The Black Pearl (1969), and Sing Down the Moon (1970).
