Sandra Day O'Connor



O'Connor, Sandra Day (1930– ), U.S. Supreme Court Justice (1981– ), the first woman appointed to the court. A lawyer, she was assistant attorney general of Arizona and a state senator. She then served as a trial judge on the state court of appeals.
