Nonpartisan League



Nonpartisan League, political association of U.S. farmers and farmworkers founded (1915) to respond to the power of banking, grain, and railroad bosses. The league campaigned for state-run elevators, mills, banks, and insurance. Strongest in the Dakotas and in Minnesota, the league dominated North Dakota's government from 1916 to 1921.
