Musk deer

Musk deer (Moschus moshiferus), a deer of the family Cervidae. The musk deer stands about 20–24 in (50.8–60.9 cm) at the shoulder, slightly higher at the rump. It has a coarse, gray-brown coat. The male has long upper canine teeth resembling tusks, no antlers, and a musk gland on its abdomen. The deer marks its territory with the musk; people use musk to scent perfumes and soaps. Unlike most deer, musk deer are solitary. They live in the mountains of Asia.
