Billy Bishop



Bishop, Billy (William Avery Bishop; 1894–1956), Canadian military flier, credited with shooting down 72 German airplanes in World War I. In 1917 he was awarded the Victoria Cross, Britain's highest military decoration, and the Distinguished Service medal.
