Elizabeth Bishop

Bishop, Elizabeth (1911–79), U.S. poet and translator of Brazilian poetry, widely acclaimed for her succinct style and lyricism. Her books include the Pulitzer Prize-winning North and South—A Cold Spring (1955), Questions of Travel (1965), and Geography III (1976).
