Gabriela Mistral



Mistral, Gabriela (Lucila Godoy Alcayaga; 1889–1957), Chilean poet, educator, and diplomat awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1945. Her simple, lyrical poems express sympathy with nature and mankind. Her works include Desolation (1922) and Tenderness (1924).
