Honoré Daumier



Daumier, Honoré (1808–79), French caricaturist, painter, and sculptor. In some 4,000 lithographs, he satirized the bourgeoisie and contemporary politicians, especially in the series Parliamentary Idylls and The Representatives Represented (1830–70). In 1832, his cartoon of King Louis-Philippe earned him six months in jail.
