Confession

Confession, in Christianity, admission of sin, an aspect of repentance. General confession may be made in a congregation; private confession may be made to God or to a priest. The latter form, a sacrament of the Roman Catholic and Eastern churches, is also observed in some Lutheran and Episcopalian churches.
