Columbia River



Columbia River, large river arising in the Canadian Rockies in southeast British Columbia, and flowing south into the northwest United States, where it turns west and forms the border between Oregon and Washington and empties into the Pacific Ocean. It is 1,150 m (1,850 km) long, and its volume is the largest of any North American river except the Mississippi.
