Color

Color, visual effect caused by the eye's ability to react differently to different wavelengths of light. Color is a sensation rather than a property of a thing. An obj ect that reflects light of a certain wavelength will appear to be a certain color. The 3 primary colors—red, blue, and yellow—can be combined to form all other colors. Two colors whose light, when combined, produces white, are called complementary. In white light, an object that reflects all wavelengths will appear white, while one that absorbs all wavelengths will appear black.
