Colombo Plan



Colombo Plan, cooperative program for economic development in South and Southeast Asia, inaugurated in 1951 at Colombo, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). The first participants were members of the British Commonwealth, joined by the United States, Japan, and several Southeast Asian countries.
