Churches of God

Churches of God, group of U.S. Pentecostal religious sects. Most of the churches of the group originated as Holiness, Pentecostal, or Adventist churches, which are evolved from Methodism. The Churches of God teach a doctrine of sanctification obtained by “second blessing” or forgiveness, and stress literal interpretation of the Bible.
