Churches of Christ



Churches of Christ, evangelical Protestant Christian body that teaches strict adherence to principles and practices set forth in the New Testament. Formerly one with the Church of the Disciples of Christ, believed to have been founded at Pentecost and refounded by Thomas Campbell (1763–1854), this conservative church is one of the largest denominations in the United States.
