China Sea



China Sea, western part of the Pacific Ocean, bordering the east coast of China. Taiwan divides it into the East China Sea to the north, 485,300 sq mi (1,256,927 sq k), maximum depth 9,126 ft (351 m), and the South China Sea to the south, 895,400 sq mi (2,319,086 sq k), maximum depth 15,000 ft (4,572 m). Major seaports are Canton and Hong Kong.
