Chimpanzee

Chimpanzee, black-haired ape (genus Pan) native to central and west Africa. Adult chimpanzees stand up to 5 ft (1.5 m) tall and may weigh 150 lb (68 k). They are the primates most closely related to humans genetically and are considered the most intelligent apes. They eat mainly fruit, leaves, nuts, and termites.
