Chichén Itzá



Chichén Itzá, archeological remains of a Maya city in Yucatan, Mexico. Founded c.514 by the Itzá, abandoned (692), reoccupied (c.928), and finally abandoned in 1194, the city connected two great periods of May a civilization. Its astronomical observatory and temples show Toltec influence.
