André Marie de Chénier
Chénier, André Marie de (1762–94), French poet. His work forms a bridge between classicism and romanticism: Le Jeune Captive (1795), Elégies and Bucoliques (1819). He was guillotined during the French Revolution for writing pamphlets against the Reign of Terror.
