Channel Islands National Park
Channel Islands National Park (est. 1980), 8 islands off South California, extending over 150 mi (241 k) in the Pacific Ocean. The islands include Santa Barbara, Anacapa, San Miguel, Santa Rosa, and Santa Cruz, known for sea mammals, including the California sea lion, and rich fossil beds.
