Chamber of Commerce



Chamber of Commerce, association of businesspeople set up to improve business conditions and practices, and to protect business interests. The first in the United States was the New York Chamber of Commerce (1768); now most sizeable cities have one. Activities are coordinated through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1912.
