Catherine of Aragon

Catherine of Aragon (1485–1536), first wife of Henry VIII of England. The daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, she married Prince Arthur (1501) and, after his death, his brother, Henry VIII (1509). Henry's annulment of the marriage (1533) without papal consent led to the English Reformation. She was the mother of Mary I of England.
