Cape Town



Cape Town (pop. 911,500), legislative capital of South Africa and capital of WestCape Province. Founded by the Dutch East India Company in 1652, it has a pleasant climate, excellent beaches, attractive scenery, and the country's largest harbor. Exports are gold, diamonds, fruits, wines, skins, wool, mohair, and corn.
