Donald Malcolm Campbell



Campbell, Donald Malcolm (1921–67), English speedboat racer. The first man to break the 200 mph (320 kmph) barrier and survive, Campbell's run, on Ullswater Lake, Cumberland, England in 1955, established a watercraft speed record of 202.32 mph (325.602 kmph). Campbell died in an accident in 1967, while exceeding 300 mph (480 kmph) in his jet-propelled boat.
